Man dies after crash on Brushy Creek Road

A crash on Brushy Creek Road has taken the life of a Greer man Saturday,

The Greer Police Department responded to a traffic collision at 3:25 pm that was located on Brushy Creek Road near the intersection of Henderson Gap Road. A 2010 Kia Forte and a 1998 Toyota 4Runner were involved in the collision.

Lynwood Simonds, 78, was pronounced dead in the emergency room at 4:51, according to the Greenville County Coroner.

Simonds was driving a Kia Forte and made a left turn from Henderson Gap Road onto Brushy Creek Road pulling into the path of a Toyota 4Runner, police reported. The Toyota 4Runner struck the driver side of the Kia and then flipped over onto its side, police reported.

Two of the four occupants in the Kia Forte were transported to the emergency room, one of them was Simonds, police said.

The driver of the Toyota 4Runner was also transported to the emergency room for treatment.
