Man, wanted for Simpsonville murders, kills himself
A man wanted for a double murder last week of a couple in their Simpsonville home, shot and killed himself Monday when Greenville County Sheriff Office deputies responded to a Greenville extended stay hotel to make an arrest.

Deputies with GCSO’s  F.A.S.I.T. (Fugitive Apprehension and Special Investigations Team) responded to 64 Orchard Park (WoodSpring Suites) to take Jerry Willard Yancey, 57, into custody for the double murder of Ansel and Alice Bouchillon that occurred on June 15, according to a GCSO spokesman.

Deputies said as they announced themselves at Yancy's hotel door, they heard a gunshot and when they entered the room they found Yancey with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators obtained active warrants on Yancy for two counts of murder, two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime and 1st degree burglary. Ansel and Alice Bouchillon were found dead last Thursday morning in their Simpsonville home on Hunter Road.

During the course of the homicide investigation, investigators learned that Yancy had been doing contract work for the Bouchillons and at some point a dispute occurred over the work provided, according to the GCSO. Investigators learned that during the evening of June 15 Yancy entered the Bouchillons’ residence, where he proceeded to shoot and kill both of them.

Investigators with the GCSO are conducting a death investigation after into Yancey’s self-inflicted shooting death.
