Dr. Ralph Eugene ?Gene? Mitchell, 83, widower of Cathryn Elizabeth "Betty" Coates Mitchell, passed away on October 2, 2012 at McCall Hospice House.
A native of Wilmington, Ohio, son of the late Ralph and Ardelle Winfield Mitchell, he was a former music teacher and band instrument repairman. Dr. Mitchell was a U.S. Air Force Korean War Veteran and a member of Trinity Bible Church.
Surviving:
Surviving are a daughter, Laura Mitchell Fortney and husband Russell of Greer; a son Steve Mitchell and wife Rita of Taylors; one sister Carolyn Newton of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren, Apryl Snyder, Tony Mitchell, Ken Fortney, Jennifer Hoelscher, Angela Valle, Stephanie Mitchell and Rachel Mitchell and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services:
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Dr. Greg Mazak. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Wood Mortuary.
The families are at their respective homes.
