John Stanley Christofferson, 54, died Friday May 18, 2012 after a brave and stubborn battle with cancer. "Stan The Man" passed peacefully at his home with his family and friends.
His greatest happiness while housebound with cancer was getting to know his grandchildren. All who knew him will remember his infectious smile, warm personality, and generous spirit. His legacy will live through The Great Bay Oyster House, which he started with his family. He worked tirelessly at his "passion" to revitalize downtown Greer.
Surviving:
He was preceded in death by his father, James, and his sister, Patty. He leaves behind his mother, Jean; brother, Scott; wife of 34 years, Diane; daughter Katie and son-in-law Shaun; son, Alex and daughter-in-law Kristin; and three grandchildren, Olivia, Harper and Micah.
Funeral Services:
A memorial to Stan will be at Grace Hall on Tuesday May 29 with a drop-in from 5-7 p.m. Celebrate at Greer Station restaurants after that.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "Stan's Fund" at Park Sterling Bank or brought to Great Bay.
