Rev. Hall Marion Hollifield, 92, of 106 Chestnut Ave. died April 13, 2012 at Greer Memorial Hospital. He was the widower of Ruth Beatrice Davis Hollifield.

A native of Ila, Georgia, born July 7, 1919, he was a son of the late Harve and Flora Culberson Hollifield. Rev. Hollifield was a U.S. Air Force World War II. He was a graduate of North Greenville (College) University, Fruitland Bible College and Southeastern Seminary. He was a minister and was a former pastor of Fairmont Baptist Church, Fairmont, SC, First Baptist Church of Nebo, Nebo, NC, and Second Baptist Church, Greer. After his retirement, he served as interim of several churches. He was recently recognized as Pastor Emeritus of First Baptist Church of Nebo, NC.

Surviving:

Surviving are two daughters, Marion Hollifield Reed and infant, Stephen David Lopez of the home, Martha ?Mott? Buff and husband, Dean, of Nebo, NC; three brothers, Whelchel Hollifield, Jack Hollifield and his wife, Louise, of Greer, and Billy Hollifield of San Antonia, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Mark Buff of Greer, Phil Buff and Sonya, of Greenville, Beverly Butler and Kenny, of Greenville, Ricky Reed and Nikki, of Morganton, NC, and Deana Marsh and Chris, of Nebo, NC; 9 great grandchildren, Landon Buff, Madison Buff, Parker Hall Buff, Reagan Buff, Britnie Butler, Brandon Butler and Nicole Butler all of Greenville, Nikhia Reed and Clara Reed of Morganton, NC, Jake Marsh and Joe Marsh of Nebo, NC; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Rev. Hollifield was also predeceased by sisters, Goldie Balliew, Mary Jane Jones and Edna Grace Hollifield and brothers, Curtis Hollifield, Berry Hollifield and Whenery Hollifield.

Funeral Services:

A celebration of his life will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Double Springs Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Thomas Riddle, Carolyn Revis, Curt Hollifield, Rev. Doug Worley and Chris Marsh. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Mark Buff, Phil Buff, Ricky Reed, Tony Hollifield, Chris Marsh, Jerry Balliew, Vic Anderson and Greg Hollifield.

The family is at the home. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Double Springs Baptist Church Family Life Center.
