Rev. Choice E. Watson dedicated more than 50 years spreading the gospel message of Christ. He pastored for 25 years at several Upstate churches.

Watson died Tuesday. He was 85.

Watson, a native of Lyman, served in the Army and National Guard for 30 years.

When Watson retired in 1997 his library had more than 1,200 books on religion and ministry-related subjects. He donated his library to North Greenville University because of his belief in the school’s mission.
