Swafford's plans for 120,000 SF warehouse gets council's early OK
Swafford Properties received first reading approval from city council on Tuesday for I-1 (industrial) annexation of property located at 1672 Old Highway 14 South.

The company of Swafford Transport and Warehouse is planning to build a 120,000 square foot warehouse on 1.55 acres.

The City of Greer Comprehensive Plan identifies the area as an employment center on its Future Land Use Map.

Motion to approve the ordinance was made by Jay Arrowood and seconded by Wryley Bettis. It passed 6-0. Councilwoman Kimberly Bookert was absent. There was no discussion by council for or against the annexation and no representative from Swafford Properties was present.

The planning commission will hear the request Monday at its monthly meeting. City Council will give the proposal second and final reading June 23.

Planning commissioners command an appearance from a representative to answer questions when a presentation is made. City Council does not.
