Taylors Mill announced Mad Smash and The Blue Ox Hatchet House, will occupy space in the Dock No. 3 area of the mill near 13 Stripes Brewery and The Farehouse.

The Mad Smash was created by licensed massage therapist Jennifer Middleton, who specializes in pain relief. Customers can pound away their frustrations in the rage room by smashing glass or other breakables or de-stress with a massage.

“I am a big believer in the mind-body connection and believe that when people hold onto emotional stress it has a big effect on their bodies,” Middleton stated in a media release. “Sometimes just letting it all out is what is really needed.”

At The Blue Ox Hatchet House, patrons can test their axe throwing skills. When it opens soon, it will have eight lanes that accommodate four people each.

Co-proprietors Adam Campbell and Ryan Acierno wanted to open their own axe throwing business after getting hooked on the craft while entertaining clients. “The Mill provides the perfect opportunity and space we’re looking for,” Acierno stated in the media release.

The Taylors Mill, originally the Southern Bleachery, operated in the Taylors community for more than 40 years with its mill, mill village, company store, churches, and golf course.
