The City of Greer begins its celebration of International Month Tuesday at noon with the ringing of 100 bells in honor of Greenville sister city Bergamo, Italy.
Bergamo bells are rung 100 times every night at 10 to mark the ancient curfew of the city gates closing for protection.

The Foodies Farmshop will become an anchor at The Depot at 300 Randall Street Suite G with the opening scheduled on April 7. That also coincides with the Greer Farmers Market that will shift locations from the Greer Florist parking lot at E. Poinsett St.

Products made in Greer can now be certified as GreerMade in an initiative presented by the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce at its annual celebration Thursday night. The chamber is marketing the logo as one word.
Mark Owens, President/CEO of the Chamber, said the program is to promote and market the diversity of products made in Greer. “We’re doing a certification of origin, a registered trademark that shows the product comes from Greer,” Owens said.

Greer Community Ministries (GCM) is re-launching the Fab 5 campaign to help stock its food pantry with basic food items that frequently run low at the nonprofit organization.
The food pantry stocks a variety of nonperishable foods that make up the food orders given to families in need in the Greater Greer area. This year’s Fab 5 items are: 18 oz. peanut butter, breakfast food including grits and dry cereal, spaghetti sauce, and boxed pasta.
