Greer’s “Drug Take Back” program got a lot easier with a drug locker located at the side entry to the Greer Police Department 102 S. Main Street.
The Greer PD annually coordinates collections for the disposal of unwanted medicines. Since 2010 more than 600 pounds has been collected by the police department at public drives held typically at drug stores.
The Greenville Technical College Library is hosting information and enrollment sessions in advanced of the March 31 deadline for purchasing health insurance.
Trained volunteers from New Horizon Family Health Services will answer questions about the Affordable Care Act and Insurance Marketplace and will assist with enrollment.

A fundraiser for 4-year-old Ian Greene, from Greer, is being held Saturday (Feb. 15) from 5 p.m. until closing at Pizza Inn of Greer at 115 Wade Hampton Blvd.
Ian suffered brain and skull injuries, broken jaw and eardrums when a television fell on his head in an accident on Dec. 16. He is rehabilitating at Rogers C. Peace Children’s Hospital.
