Health care power of attorney drop-in at Greer Memorial

Ralph May, chaplain at Greer Memorial Hospital, discusses the South Carolina Health Care Power of Attorney document, with hospital volunteer Grace Hawkins. A drop-in is 1-3 p.m. today in the hospital lobby.          

A second “Decision Day” drop-in is scheduled Thursday, 1-3 p.m. in the lobby at Greer Memorial Hospital.

Greer Memorial chaplain Ralph May will be available to discuss the South Carolina Health Care Power of Attorney document and learn about advance care planning. Individuals can make directives for the medical care they want when others are making those decisions.

SRHS partners with MUSC to bring milk donors to babies

Milk from a donor mother is carefully transferred from milk storage containers to glass flasks.    

When a baby is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), its survival may hinge on having human breast milk.

Sometimes, a baby’s mother is not able to produce enough breast milk for their low birth weight baby. These low weight babies are born weighing less than 1,500 grams or just over 3 pounds.
