Thanksgiving is a time for family, friends and food. But it’s also a day to be especially cautious when it comes to cooking fires.
The 26th Turkey Day Run Thursday is at Eastside High School.
The run begins at 9 a.m. and registration at 7:30 a.m., near John Carlisle Stadium on the grounds of Eastside High School at 1300 Brushy Creek Road in Taylors.
An Upstate resident is the first flu fatality this season in South Carolina, according to the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control Tuesday.
DHEC declined to report which county the individual was from.
The Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System honored 265 veterans Friday with a luncheon.
“On Veterans Day, we remember those that have and do serve our country, and we extend our gratitude for their valor, sacrifice, courage and soul,” said Spartanburg Regional CEO Bruce Holstien. “On this day we celebrate those who have dedicated their lives to our freedom.”
