Today's noon deadline passed without a notice of any planned write-in campaign for the November election. That means Greer Commission of Public Works will have the only municipal election with candidates incumbent Eugene Gibson and Tom Kriese on the ballot for one seat for a 6-year term.
The three sitting members of Greer City Council – Wayne Griffin (District 2), Dumas (District 4) and Judy Albert (District 6) – were unopposed are considered the unofficial winners. Those results will be made official upon election certification in November.
Incumbent Gene Gibson will face off against Tom Kriese for the Greer Commission of Public Works seat in the Nov. 5 municipal general election. Filing for the general election closed at noon today with no new candidates, Steve Owens confirmed to GreerToday.com.
