Rev. Bright served as a pastor in the Spartanburg and Charleston Associations and upon retirement became interim pastor in Spartanburg, Columbia and Greenville.
After retirement he served as pastor for 5 years of Forest Acre Baptist Church which has since relocated to Anderson Mill Road now known as Anderson Mill Baptist Church.
Rev. Bright was former Vice President of Spartanburg and Charleston Baptist Association. He also served as President of The Woodruff and Charleston Area Ministerial Associations.
Rev. Bright planted three churches and served on the Advisory Committee of Charleston Southern University under Dr. John Hamrick.

He played professional baseball with the Boston Red Sox and the Pittsburg Pirates.
Mr. Blackwell was the owner and operator of JB Construction Company building houses in California and South Carolina, a member of the Woodworkers Guild. Mr. Blackwell was a member of Washington Baptist Church.
