Charles Gene Moser
October 14, 1939 - August 16, 2022
Charles ?Gene? Moser, 82, born on October 14, 1939, passed from death to everlasting life on August 16, 2022.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jones Moser, of 59 years; parents, Charlie and Eliza Moser; and his brother, Jimmy Moser.
Originally from Chilhowie, Va., Gene served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1968, serving as a Staff Sergeant. He earned the highest marksmanship award, qualifying at Expert level.
Gene spent most of his adult life in Salem, Va., where he served as President of the United Food & Commercial Workers (Local 278) for 29 years. He worked tirelessly on behalf of those he represented.
After retiring in 1995, Gene relocated to Greer, where he drove a school bus part-time for Greenville County School System. Gene was a member of Washington Baptist Church in Greer.
He spent much of his life serving the Lord in various ways: Deacon, teaching Sunday School, visiting the homebound, disciplining new believers in Christ, and investing in people for the advancement of the Gospel. To sum up Gene?s life in one word would be ?servant?. He sought to faithfully serve His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; his wife throughout many years of health challenges; and those he encountered on a daily basis throughout his lifetime.

Jackie "Jack" Lane Farmer, 80, of Duncan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, surrounded by his family.
He was born June 29, 1942, son of the late Jessie Runion and Mary Ruth Henson Farmer. he was also predeceased in death by his sister, Thelma Irene Tooley; two brothers, Benny Farmer and Jessie Dean Farmer, Sr.
Jack was a native of Greer, S.C., and retired from Roadway Trucking after 25 years of employment. He was a longtime Mason and a member of the Hejaz Shriners of Greenville.
Mr. Farmer grew up as a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church and as an adult he was a member of Apalache Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He will always be remembered for his strong work ethic, wit, charm, sense of humor and his love for his family and the Lord.
