Riverside Middle School students are busy completing end of the year projects.
Seventh-grade social studies classes experienced a day of Art in History by completing butterfly paintings as part of their unit on the Holocaust.
The Greater Greer Education Foundation awarded $13,000 in scholarships to 13 students from six high schools in the Greater Greer area Tuesday afternoon at Greer City Hall.
Students were selected by the guidance department of each school and submitted to the Foundation. The Foundation in turn will present scholarship funds to the technical school or college on behalf of the student.
Riverside High School’s Eric Cummings coached his final track and field competition last weekend at the state high school championships at Spring Valley High School. The Riverside girls had their best finish as runnerup last weekend.
Cummings, however, will continue to coach the cross country teams.
The Riverside High School girls recorded their highest finish in the state championship track meet with a second place at Spring Valley High School last weekend.
Riverside scored 68 points to state champion Wando’s 84.5. The runner-up finish was the Warriors’ highest since fourth place last year.
Twelve Riverside High School athletes signed today to continue their athletic career in college in the fall.
Eight of the athletes will stay in state while four will attend out-of-state schools.
The Riverside Cheerleading Summer Kiddie Camp is scheduled for June 26-29 at the Riverside High School gymnasium.
The camp is 9 a.m. – noon for ages 4-12. The camp’s showcase is June 29 at 11:30 a.m.
