Celebrity rotation is set for BMW Charity Pro-Am

Celebrities and course rotation for the BMW Charity Pro-Am at Thornblade Club, The Preserve at Verdae and Furman University Golf Club are set.

The tournament is scheduled over three courses May 18-21 at the Furman University Golf Club, The Preserve at Verdae and Thornblade Club in Greer.

On Sunday, the 10 lowest scoring pro-amateur teams and six lowest scoring pro-celebrity teams will advance to play in the final round at Thornblade Club.

“Many of the celebrities are happy to sign an autograph or take a quick selfie with fans, but it’s safe to assume they will only have a moment,” said McIntyre Hargrove, Communications Manager. “Have your pen in hand or your camera all set to snap the photo as soon as you say ‘hello.’ It’s also very important for fans to understand that tournament play cannot be interrupted, so you will need to catch your favorite celebrity as they are exiting the course after they’ve finished for the day

• Furman – Thursday; The Preserve – Friday; Thornblade – Saturday: Josh Beckett (former MLB player); Tim Brando (FOX Sports broadcaster); Andy Buckley (actor, Odd Mom Out); Larry the Cable Guy (comedian); Michael Collins (ESPN golf analyst); John O’ Hurley (actor, Seinfeld); Lisa O’ Hurley (Fashion Designer); Paul O'Neill (former Major League Baseball player);  Alfonso Ribeiro (host, America’s Funniest Home Videos); Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers)

• The Preserve – Thursday; Thornblade – Friday; Furman – Saturday: Jonathan Banks (actor, Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul); Mark Bryan (Hootie and The Blowfish); Chandler Catanzaro (New York Jets); Carmine Giovinazzo (actor, CSI:NY); Scott Henry (comedian); Chipper Jones (former MLB player); Richard Karn (actor, Home Improvement); Russ Ortiz (former MLB player); Paula Trickey (actress/Pacific Blue); Tim Wakefield (former MLB player); Justin Wheelon (Emmy® Award-winning producer)

Alexis, Banks, Collins, Felber and Trickey are updates to the original celebrity roster, which was first announced on April 20.

In addition to actors, artists and athletes, the tournament brings other activities to the Upstate as well, including:

• The inaugural Executive Women’s Day will take place on Wednesday, May 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Furman University’s Trone Student Center. The event will include a panel discussion for women, by women. Keynote speaker will be Molly Barker, founder of Girls on the Run.

• On Thursday, May 18, 6-10 p.m., select musical talent participating in the tournament will entertain at a free celebrity concert on Main after play concludes. It will feature a performance by Back 9 and a stand-up comedy routine by Larry the Cable Guy.

• On Friday, May 19 a private ticketed concert ($250) will feature a performance by Grammy-nominated band the Spin Doctors. The Concert Party includes a menu by Larkin’s on the River and beverages.

• On Saturday, May 20 patrons are asked to wear pink by tournament officials to show their support for breast cancer awareness. Pink on the Links presented by Greenville Health System will be observed at all courses.
