The City of Greer Fire Department is accepting applications for the Citizens Fire Academy.
The free eight-week course will provide citizens with a better understanding of how the fire department operates and the job they perform.
The academy will include both classroom sessions and hands-on training.
Classes are held at 6:30 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 25 and through Nov. 13. Candidates must be 18 years old or to apply.
