The City of Greer Fire Department’s Citizens Fire Academy is a free eight-week course designed to introduce the public to the department’s functions and daily operations.
This year’s 8-week course begins Sept. 25.
Class sessions will be held on Monday from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. at the city’s Greer Fire Department Station 1 at 103 W Poinsett Street with the exception of a couple Saturday sessions held at Station 2, the training facility, located at 1985 Hood Road.

During the course, participants will have a chance to wear personal protective equipment, extinguish a fire and participate on a ride-along, as well as learn CPR and home fire safety tips from professional fire fighters.
