Larry Compton has been hired by Greer State Bank as Vice President and Mortgage Loan Officer at its Taylors branch.

 

Larry Compton has been hired as Vice President and Mortgage Loan Officer at Greer State Bank. He will serve in the Taylors branch and be responsible for developing relationships with customers, realtors, builders, and other sources for the origination of residential mortgages loans.

Compton has more than 30 years in lending and mortgage lending experience.

“In addition to loan generation, Larry has managed mortgage operations and has extensive experience in conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA residential mortgage lending,” said Tim Strom, the bank’s mortgage director. “He is a great addition to our GSB Mortgage team.”

Compton, lifelong resident of South Carolina, began his lending career in 1973 and has focused on mortgage lending since 1992. He previously served as a board member for the S.C. Department of Consumer Affairs and participated in the composition of the mortgage regulations for the state. He also served as a board member and president of the South Carolina Mortgage Brokers Association.

Compton and his wife, Syretta, reside in Moore and have two sons and two granddaughters.
