GCM's Souper Bowl of Caring fundraiser set at Peach Bowl Lanes
Greer Community Ministries (GCM) is participating in the nationwide Souper Bowl of Caring campaign by hosting a Glow Bowl-a-thon event on Friday, Feb. 3, at Peach Bowl Lanes.

Teams of six must reserve lanes by calling Hannah Rainwater, 877-1937, by Monday, Jan. 30.

Bowling is free from 10 p.m. to midnight, but teams are asked to collect donations from friends and family members to donate to GCM. Last year’s event raised $3,618.

The Souper Bowl of Caring started in 1990 as a way for young people to inspire others to collect dollars and food during the weeks leading up to the National Football League’s Super Bowl. One hundred percent of the funds go to local charities like GCM. Last year 6,889 groups collected $10,508,845 and food items.
