Seven to be inducted into Greer Athletic Hall of Fame Friday
• All-Time Hall of Fame

Seven former athletes will be inducted into the Greer High School Hall of Fame Friday night at halftime of the Daniel-Greer game at Dooley Field..

The game begins at 7:30 p.m.

Class of 2011

Jordan Mathis played four years of basketball and volleyball. Her senior stats were 12.6 points per game, 2.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.8 steals. Mathis was all-State and two time all-Region player. She graduated Carson-Newman University.

Joseph Neely played four years for varsity basketball and tennis teams. He started as a sophomore on the 2009 Upper State Championship basketball team and was named all-Region in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Neely was selected all-State his senior year and played on the North-South All-Star team where he was the All-Star 3 point champion.

Dyshia Parks was a basketball and track and field standout. Her senior basketball stats as a forward included 13.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2-4 assists and 3.1 steals. Parks was named all-State, two-time all-Region and 2010 Player of the Year region player of the year. She attended College of Charleston on a track scholarship.

Class of 2010

Chris Dean started three years in basketball and was selected to the 2010 all-State team. He averaged 22 points as a junior and 23 as a senior. Dean was named all-Region in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and helped his team to reach the state championship game in 2009. He earned a scholarship and graduated from North Greenville University.

Class of 2002

Derek DeYoung played football and participated in track. He was named to the North-South All-Star team and received all-Region and all-Greenville County honors. DeYoung played football for North Greenville University.

Class of 2001

Pat Watson was a four-year starter for the football team from 1997-2000. He was all-State his senior year and participated in the North-South game. Watson was all all-Region twice.

Honorary member

Gary Vaughn, a 1956 graduate, remained in the athletic programs of the school for five decades. He served two terms as Booster Club President, was football statistician, and has been football clock operator for the past 20 years. Vaughn is involved with the Greer Christian Learning Center.
