GSP reminds Samsung Note 7 phone owners of ban at airports

A damaged Samsung Galaxy Note 7. 
 
 

Travelers possessing Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones are reminded traveling with them through Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport and all U.S. airports are prohibited.

US Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx said an emergency order banning the devices would take effect at noon Saturday. That order includes all domestic flights and international flights to or from the United States, according to the FAA.

NCAA selects Greenville as 2017 host for first and second round men's tournament basketball games

Greenville will host first and second round games of the 2017 NCAA men’s basketball championship at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Friday and Sunday, March 17 and 19.

Furman University and the Southern Conference will serve as co-hosts.

Jimmy and Marsha Gibbs attended GSP's announcement Tuesday that it will take over as the fixed base operator beginning on Jan. 1, 2017.
 
 

The Gibbs Cancer Center and Research Institute in Greer just became a lot more accessible to patients seeking clinical access and treatment for cancer care.

The Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District becoming the fixed base operator for commercial and general aviation under the Cerulean brand is another avenue for cancer patients having access to the cancer institute.

Dave Edwards, President and CEO of the GSP Airport District, offers a toast after announcing that the fixed based operator will be handled in-house under the brand name Cerulean.
 

The Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District is taking over as the fixed base operator (FBO) at the GSP airport.

Cerulean Aviation begins on Jan. 1 when Stevens Aviation’s 10-year contract expires New Year’s eve.
