Mya Machen volunteered at the Quest Leadership Academy.
 

Mya Machen, 20, is Miss Blue Ridge Foothills. She is a native of Fountain Inn and is an opera singer.

Mya will be participating with all the Miss South Carolina Pageant contestants Saturday and Sunday in a workshop that leads up to the June pageant.

The Miss South Carolina workshop weekend is scheduled Feb. 26-28 in Columbia.

Among the beauty queens from greater Greer attending the event are the following girls crowned at the J. Harley Bonds Career Center representing Blue Ridge/Foothills, Wade Hampton/Taylors and Travelers Rest.

There have been many requests from former Greer High School grads, friends and families to post the photo of Gwinn Gibson (Harvey), Miss Le Flambeau 1984.

Gwinn Gibson Harvey is the mother of Madison Harvey, Miss Le Flambeau 2016 crowned Saturday night at Greer High School.  The photo of mother and daughter is also shown together (below) after Saturday's pageant.

Story time readers give special attention to children at Little Me Academy

Jeff Randolph, of Randolph Group and developer of O'Neal Village, had children participating in his Dr. Seuss story.
 
 

Three special guests visited the children at Little Me Academy in Greer on Thursday morning.

Officer John Saunders of the Greer Police Department, Miss Greater Easley Teen 2016 Sarah Finleyson, and Jeff Randolph of the Randolph Group, who developed O'Neal Village in Blue Ridge, paid a visit for a special story time and delighted the youngsters with some classic children's tales.

Emma Kate Rhymer was selected Miss Greer High School 2016 Saturday night.

Mikayla Parker was first runnerup, Tara Hawkins second runnerup. Rhymer was evening gown winner, Hawkins won formal wear and Parker photogenic.
