The Greer High School senior girls gave their underclassmen another lesson in one-upmanship Thursday with an 18-6 powder puff victory in the annual game at Dooley Field.
“It feels good knowing we won because Seniors Rule,” said senior Sydney Johnson. “Juniors put up a good fight but we came out on top.”
Ethan Wortkoetter signed a grant-in-aid with Presbyterian College to play baseball for the Big South Conference school.
Wortkoetter, a pitcher and infielder for Greer High School and Greer American Legion Post 115, had a standout senior season for baseball coach Bob Massullo.
Antoinette Hall doesn’t let time pass her by. She’s a student, theater performer, musician and business manager and works late shift at Quik Trip.
Thursday, during the final dress rehearsal for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, which opens Friday night at the Cannon Centre, Antoinette was relaxing in a corner of a dressing room playing acoustic guitar. She plays "Titania", the beautiful queen of the fairies in the play that marks the first time the Greer Children’s Theater will have a full production in the Cannon Centre.
Greer High School held its prom Saturday night with couples visiting various Greer landmarks to have their portrait produced.
This group visited City Park for their photos. The gazebo was popular setting for students.
Adam Massey, a business teacher at Greer High School and teacher of the nationally acclaimed Virtual Enterprise Program, has been named a finalist for the 2013-2014 Greenville County Teacher of the Year.
Massey, a teacher for 6 years, has directed his VE Business Plan team to three consecutive state championships and fourth time overall. Greer is the winningest school in the history of South Carolina Virtual Enterprise. The team will compete in the national tournament in New York City.
