Rev. Fred Hammett Brown, 85, of Greer, SC died Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Greenville, SC.
Son of Fred H. and Venity Hammett Brown, he was born into a loving Christian family on February 10, 1930 and grew up in the Cedar Spring Community of Spartanburg, SC.
He received a call to Gospel ministry while a member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church at the age of 20, and he went on to graduate from Mars Hill Junior College, Furman University, and Southern Baptist Seminary in pursuit of the Lord?s will for his life.
He enthusiastically pastored New Hope Baptist Church in Cross Anchor, SC, served as Associate Pastor of Southside Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC, and pastored Northwood Baptist Church in Greer, SC and First Baptist Church in Dillon, SC before retiring and serving as Interim Pastor of Double Springs Baptist Church and of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church of Greer.
A member of Taylors First Baptist Church, he diligently loved others by excelling in many varied ministries both inside and outside the church, leaving a legacy of faithfulness to all that had the privilege of seeing Jesus shining through his life.

Pauline E. Dixon, 82, beloved wife for 61 years to John A. Dixon died February 22, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Waterville, Maine January 22, 1933, the daughter of Paul W. and Alice P. Morency. She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She was an expert in the art of cross-stitch and an accomplished seamstress.

Dan Warren Wilson, 82, died February 24, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
A native of Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late Avery and Kate White Wilson.
Mr. Wilson graduated from Furman University, formerly served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was a member of the Greer National Guard 178th Artillery.
He was a former employee of Liberty Life Insurance Company and later worked for J.P. Stevens as a division accountant and as a manager of the Methods and Procedures Department at the corporate level.
Upon the closing of J.P. Stevens, he retired as co-owner of Poinsett Properties Company which had a real estate franchise with Century 21. Mr. Wilson was a long standing member of Victor BaptistChurch.
He was a member of the Bailey Masonic Lodge # 146 and a Hejaz Shriner.
He was past President of the Greer Jaycees, later became a secretary treasurer of the State Jaycees and served as national director with the Jaycees.
He was extremely proud of his three grandsons and took great joy in his three great-grandchildren, especially the "little red headed girl". He had a special place in his heart for Cherry Grove Beach and Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
He was Vice President of the homeowners association at Springs Towers, Cherry Grove, South Carolina. He loved traveling and enjoyed many unforgettable trips with Tess (wife) and a host of close friends.
