April 6, 2023 -
The family of Eric L. Wilson sadly announces his passing on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the age of 50.
Eric was born May 17, 1972, in Las Vegas, Nevada to Jimmy D. and Mary Lynn Wilson, who moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1974 to raise their family of which Eric was the middle child, with an older brother, Marc, and a younger sister, Christina.
With two beautiful children, a son Gabriel and a daughter Jillian, Eric married Tiffany and gained two additional sons, Joseph and Ethan. As a father of four, Eric passionately loved his wife and children as a shining example of a good person and true leader.
Eric had a passion for life, and his smile lit up a room. As a child, Eric was fascinated with Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and the consumption of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
In 1990, Eric graduated from Eldorado High School. Inspired by the hit movie Top Gun, Eric enlisted in the U.S. Navy and received his leather flight jacket.
Eric went on to earn naval accolades, awards, and honors as a true national hero who moved up in rank to become a Chief Petty Officer. Eric's 22-year career in the Navy shaped his keen perspective on the things in life that were most valuable ? loved ones and possessing "just enough" for contentment. However, the quickest way to a beaming smile on Eric's face was through sharing his memorable experiences with his naval "brothers and sisters".
When Eric retired as a chief from the Navy, he enjoyed a slower pace with small pleasures in life. One day, Eric would operate his drone, remote control airplane, and 3D printer. On the next day, Eric would fish, hike, or binge-watch a favorite show. Eric had numerous hobbies, and he loved learning new things. Several times during his final months, Eric expressed contentment and happiness with his station in life.
Eric will be genuinely missed by all who knew him. He was a loyal person who offered support, guidance, and a listening ear at any time to those in need, even at personal cost to himself.
