TAYLORS – The Riverside Warriors closed their season Friday night with a win against the Generals at Wade Hampton High School, 35-28.
The Riverside High School Speech and Debate Team won the Queen City Tournament at Charlotte Catholic High School in Pineville, N.C., on Saturday.
Riverside beat out 30 schools from four states.
Riverside ran into a high-powered Greenwood offense that scored the most points since 1945.
Greenwood finished its Region II-AAAAA scheduled undefeated, 5-0, at the expense of an outmanned Riverside Warriors football team, 63-14, Friday night at Greenwood.
The Riverside boys and girls won the state Class AAAAA swim championships Friday at the University of South Carolina Natatorium. It was the boys fourth consecutive state championship.
The Riverside boys accumulated 427 points to outdistance runnerup Wando with 360.
Both teams are 3-4 overall. Laurens is on a 2-game win streak and Riverside has lost two straight. Riverside is 2-2 at home and Laurens is 2-2 on the road.

Riverside Middle School seventh-grade students participated in a district career fair at the TD Convention Center.
The students visited representatives from more than 80 businesses and learned about a wide variety of careers.
Hillcrest scored five rushing touchdowns in the first half to defeat Riverside, 45-7, in a high school football game Thursday night at the Reservation.
The Region II-AAAA game was moved up one day anticipating heavy rain Friday evening brought to the upstate by Hurricane Matthew.
The Hillcrest at Riverside Region II-AAAA homecoming football game has been moved to Thursday night at 7 p.m.
