Acme General opens deli, second floor

Acme General Store is getting more general in merchandise and beefing up its food this week.
Denise VandenBerghe is opening the second floor of Acme Friday for outdoors clothing, camping gear and outdoor supplies and games. A deli will occupy the first floor adjacent to the ice cream bar. Items moved upstairs made room for tables downstairs for customers who want to eat in for breakfast and lunch.
The hours, beginning Thursday, will reflect, the store’s expansion. Two part-time employees have been added and Jacob Danner will be the deli manager.
Aaron Tippin will perform at Family Fest

Country music singer Aaron Tippin will highlight the 2012 Village Hospital Greer Family Fest. The 28th anniversary for the two-day event is scheduled Friday May 4 and Saturday May 5.
The singer-songwriter who graduated Blue Ridge High School will perform during Saturday night’s event. Tippin, who plays acoustics guitar, will have his band with him and will give Greer one of its highest-profile entertainers since the festival began.
Grace Hall hosts 'Funniest Man in America' Feb. 17

James Gregory, "The Funniest Man in America", will be at Grace Hall on Friday, Feb. 17.
Gregory is a comedic storyteller akin to listening to a friend, grinning and his shirt un-tucked with his arms outstretched, sharing his experiences.
