Jeff Farringon, head coach at North Greenville University, has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association football coach of the Year, it was reported on the school's Facebook page.
Farrington coached the NGU Crusaders to a 7-5 record and the NCCAA Victory Bowl Championship. The Crusaders beat Shorter College, 42-16, last month in Rome, Ga.
Greer High Photography students participated in the Greenville County Soil and Water Conservation District K-12 Photography Competition.
Carson Barrs received overall Best In Show for his photo. Lyndsey Sears won 1st place in the 10th-grade category and Breanna Walden received an Honorable Mention.
The Greer High School honor choir was caroling Thursday along Poinsett Street and Trade Street. The carolers visited the Municipal building housing the fire and police departments and passed through City Hall Thursday morning. They were back in the afternoon entertaining along in the central business district.

Tigerville and Woodland Elementary, Riverside Middle and Riverside, Berea and Greer High Schools created large, colorful holiday cards for Roper Mountain Holiday Lights.
Starting with a blank piece of plywood, the students designed and painted the cards, which are now on display at the top of the amphitheater walkway in Winter Wonderland.
