Rosters were available for this year’s Greer High School spring football game Friday evening.
Greer and Riverside will host spring football scrimmages Friday at 6 p.m.
Greer, last season’s unbeaten Peach Blossom AAA champions, will hold its scrimmage at Dooley Field.

The Greater Greer Education Foundation awarded $13,000 in scholarships to 13 students from six high schools in the Greater Greer area Wednesday afternoon at Greer City Hall. Students were selected by the guidance department of each school and submitted to the Foundation. The Foundation in turn will present scholarship funds to the technical school or college on behalf of the student.

Troy Pride won four state championships, three individuals in the 100-, 200-, and 400-meter dashes and ran a leg on the 4x100 relay team Saturday.
It is no surprise that Greer High School senior Troy Pride personifies the denotative meaning of his last name. The record-breaking Yellow Jacket takes “pride” in what he does; that is to win every race in which he competes. In addition, Pride has made a commitment to Greer High School; a pledge to compete at the pinnacle of his ability until the last race of his career.
Pride, who earned a full scholarship to play football at the University of Notre Dame in February, has given Greer fans, as well as those in the state, one more season of his brilliant sprinting ability.

Noah Guthrie will tour in the United Kingdom this summer.
Guthrie, the Greer High School graduate and former “Glee” cast member will join Megan Davis for four shows throughout the UK in September.
The Greer High School boxcar was designed by art students Laura Brown, Ryan McCullough, Michaelyn Russell and Jetaysia Dandy.
The boxcars have rolled back into downtown Greer.
The City of Greer’s commitment to enhance downtown Greer and build on its art culture is ongoing.
