Katherine (Kate) Malone has been named principal of Riverside Middle School, replacing Eric Williams who will assume principalship of Wade Hampton High School.

Malone is serving as assistant principal/acting principal of Greer Middle School.

Hill signs with North Greenville

Greer High School's Andrew Hill signed a grant-in-aid to attend North Greenville University to run cross country. Hill's mother, Lynell, and cross country coach John Heberger, left, and track coach Jorge Santos attended the ceremony at the school.
 
 

Andrew Hill, an academic, cross country and distance track standout with Greer High School, has signed a grant-in-aid to run for North Greenville University.

He owns the school record for the 800 and 1600 meters. Hill will concentrate on country cross at NGU.

Blue Ridge seniors were honored on Friday. Justin Lynn Center, Alex Williams, Robert Westenrieder, Ty Montgomery, Hunter Matthew Wheeler, John Mason Reynolds and Augustus Cothran.
 
 

Blue Ridge, Greer and Riverside high school baseball seniors were honored last week as the regular season wound down.

Among the seniors were a half dozen who signed grants-in-aid to play baseball in college beginning in the fall.

Samantha Bagley pitched and batted Greer past Blue Ridge Friday as the Lady Yellow Jackets won the Region II-AAA softball championship.

Samantha Bagley pitched and batted Greer to a 3-2 win over visiting Blue Ridge Friday that gave the Lady Yellow Jackets the Region II-AAA championship and No. 1 seed headed into the state softball playoffs.

Gay signs with Erskine to play baseball

Austin Gay's signing with Erskine College on Tuesday was a family affair. Attending the event were his grandmother, Mary Gay, parents Steven and Tracy Gay, and sisters Mary-Claire and Jessica.

Austin Gay, an infielder with Greer High School, signed a baseball grant-in-aid with Erskine College Tuesday.

He has lettered in varsity and jayvee baseball under coaches Bob Massullo, Kevin Gregory and Eric Moody.

Greer's Eden's Confections wins international VE Catalog competition

Chanie Robinson-Cain, Makenzie Cain, Crystal Helton and Dezmon Scott won the Inernational Virtual Enterprise Catalog Competition in New York City last week. Their business, Eden's Confections, was sixth for best business plan.
 

Greer High School’s Virtual Enterprise business, Eden’s Confections, won first place in the Catalog Competition in the International Trade Show of the Youth Business Summit in New York City last week.

The team beat an international field that included teams from Brazil, Bulgaria and Indonesia.

Fundraising golf tournament for Greer sports set

A fundraising golf tournament for the Greer High School booster club is looking for players and sponsors for the tournament scheduled Friday, May 2 at Greer Golf and Country Club.

Four man teams are $300 and include green fees, cart, range balls and lunch.
