Greenville hands Greer boys basketball defeat

The Greer boys fell to Greenville, 64-57, Tuesday night in at Greer High School.

Dorian Williams scored a game-high 25 points by opening with seven points in the first quarter, six in the second and a blistering 10 in the third quarter when Greenville built a 52-39 lead.

Greer’s Cam Woodruff scored 18 points while his fellow teammates had an unusually quiet note. Tyric Fleming scored nine points before fouling out and Delmar Moore added eight and also had four fouls.

Magic Moody was held to two points for the Yellow Jackets and Sam Gravely managed only five with a three-point goal in the first quarter and was held scoreless until hitting a field goal in the final period.

Greer fell behind 20-9 in the first quarter and couldn’t make up ground until an 18-point blitz in the final period.

Greer is 6-10 overall and 0-1 in the region. The Yellow Jackets play Travelers Rest on Thursday at Greer.

The girls result was not reported.
