North Augusta makes its way into the end zone for another second-quarter touchdown.
North Augusta eliminated Greer from the Class AAAA state football playoffs, 52-34. Both teams are named Yellow Jackets.
North Augusta all but decided the outcome when it scored 21 points in less than 2:30 in the third quarter. That broke a 21-21 halftime tie and moved North Augusta to a 42-21 lead.
Landon Washington connected with Derius Gibson for a 62-yard scoring play, Gibson scored 34 seconds later cashing in on a turnover with a two-yard touchdown and Washington hooked up with Dejuan Biel on a 16-yard pass play for North Augusta’s scoring blitz.
Quay White scored four touchdowns for Greer – a 90-yard punt return, 76-yard run, 88-yard kickoff return and a 66-yard catch and pass play from quarterback Trey Houston.
It was the final game of All-Region II AAAA player of the year Noah Hannon. He played defense in the second half in an effort to try to stop North Augusta.
