Union County will make a return trip to Dooley Field Friday night – this time for the second round of the Class 3A state playoffs.

Call it, "Jacket Bowl 2.0."

"It's always close, it's always tight every time we play," Greer Head Coach Will Young said of the season's second matchup with Union County.

Union County defeated Belton-Honea Path 27-24 in the first round of the playoffs. Like Greer, Union County rallied from an early two-touchdown deficit for the win. Greer trailed Travelers Rest 13-0 before scoring the game's final 45 points.

"There's a lot of pride between the two schools, and may the best team win," Young said.

Greer defeated Union County 35-28 in the Sept. 11 Jacket Bowl. The game featured a combined 936 yards in total offense. Greer got a 53-yard game-winning touchdown toss by Mario Cusano to Troy Pride with just over a minute to play.
