One team will win its first game this season and the other will start 0-2 when Greer visits Byrnes tonight in high school football.

Unbeaten Riverside will play at Eastside and winless Blue Ridge is at Powdersville in the second week of games.

All games start at 7:30 p.m.

Greer at Byrnes: Both teams got roughed up last Friday. Greer lost to Westside 38-10 at Dooley Field and Byrnes lost 35-19 at Myrtle Beach. Byrnes committed six turnovers and trailed 28-0 in the first quarter. Byrnes leads the series 27-26-1 but has dominated Greer winning the past nine meetings. This is their first matchup since a 52-6 Byrnes win over Greer in 2009.

Riverside at Eastside: Riverside recorded a 7-3 win over visiting Travelers Rest last week while Eastside lost to Woodmont, 28-21. This is both teams’ rivalry game. The Steve Wilson, Eastside head coach, era began with a 25-0 win over Eastside last year in a game played at Wade Hampton High School, when Greenville County administrators ruled Riverside’s field unplayable due to turf problems.

Spectators are reminded that Eastside will not operate the ticket gate close to Brushy Creek Elementary School. All spectators will enter the main ticket booth.

Blue Ridge at Landrum: Blue Ridge will be looking to score its first points and it will be against their former coach Jason Farmer who now is head coach for the Cardinals. Blue Ridge lost at Belton-Honea last week, making this the second straight away game.
