Thunder opened tonight's Greer Idol performances, but the rain held off long enough for the contestants to give some exceptional performances.

Song selections had to be chosen from movie soundtracks, and the songs featured tonight covered six decades of history.

Megan Watts brought tears to the eyes of many audience members as she told the crowd that her dad and soldiers deployed with him were watching her performance tonight. Cameras videoing the event were turned so the servicemen could see the crowd as they cheered the soldiers and communicated their appreciation.

Tonight's performances were:

GREER IDOL TEEN
Megan Watts
Flashdance...What a Feeling (Irene Cara)

Kayla Diane Kershaw
When You Say Nothing At All (Allison Krause)

Catherine Warren
Footloose (Kenny Loggins)

Anna McCleer
Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee (Stockard Channing)

GREER IDOL
Brittany Pridemore
Blue Suade Shoes (Elvis Presley)

Ryan Wilson
It Had Better Be Tonight (Micheal Buble)

Doug Allen
I Will Not Go Quietly (Steven Curtis Chapman)

Wally Dreesen
You Make Me Feel so Young (Frank Sinatra)
