Thanks to social media Greer CPW amended one rules and regulations and added another for Lake Robinson and Lake Cunningham.
Paddle boards are now prohibited on the lakes, joining rafts, hydroplanes, houseboats, jet skis, wave runners, tire tubes or windsurfing craft. Any inflatable craft must be approved by the lake warden.

The Greer Police Department will be hosting the 6th Annual Upstate SC Law Enforcement Memorial Softball Tournament on Aug. 26-27 at Century Park.
Public Safety agencies from the upstate will compete in the tournament to honor law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. All money raised goes to support the families of fallen officers in the Upstate.
Matt Davidson sent an email asking about updates on Allegiant Air routes from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport. A story posted here suggested Allegiant was showing interest in expanding its market at GSP.
GSP President/CEO Dave Edwards, in a May meeting with the Board of Commissioners, stated he attended the annual Allegiant conference in Las Vegas. Edwards told commissioners the meeting was positive. GSP is the fifth lowest cost airport in the Allegiant system even with the increase based on the new rate structure. With regards to GSP, Allegiant remains focused on four cities in Florida with no particular growth plans at this time.
Dr. H. Paul Thompson Jr., dean of College of Humanities and professor and chair of the Department of History at North Greenville University, is one of 57 participants selected for the 44th class of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Greenville (LG) program.
“I am continuously seeking ways to refine my leadership skills. I know several (Leadership Greenville) graduates who speak very highly of the program,” Thompson said.
Motorists traveling southbound on Interstate 85 in Spartanburg County are advised that the left lane will be closed effective Sunday nights through Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., from mile marker 80 to mile marker 77.
These southbound lane closures are anticipated to continue until Aug. 3.

Northwood Little League Minors is in the championship game of the Little League Minors Southeast Regional Tournament of Champions.
Head softball coach and USC Upstate alumnus Chris Hawkins ‘89 has been promoted to associate athletic director. He will remain the head softball coach for the Spartans.
“From my time as a player and now as a coach, USC Upstate has been a big part of my life for 30 years,” Hawkins said. “For me, every day is a great day to be a Spartan but today is a really good day.”
