Brenda Kay Miller Corley, 60, of 380 Packs Mountain Ridge Road, died July 31, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
A native of Bellville, Ohio, daughter of the late Howard and Oma Lively Miller, she was of the Methodist faith.
Growing up in rural Ohio, Mrs. Corley was a daddy's girl, following her beloved father around their farm, helping with chores. Her favorite task was picking black raspberries and making preserves with her mother.
In South Carolina, Mrs. Corley enjoyed a peaceful life at the hilltop home she shared with her husband. The setting echoed her gentle nature, and she thoughtfully decorated the home with treasured antiques and family heirlooms.
She loved welcoming and entertaining guests and was especially fond of the mountain views her home provided.
A professional photographer at one time, Mrs. Corley enjoyed evening sunsets with her husband and cherished capturing these moments on film.

He was born in Greenville County, South Carolina on March 30, 1948, and was the son of Thomas H. and Alice (White) Stokes, who predeceased him.

Duncan Charles Johnson, 80, of 3 North Street, died July 27, 2015 at his home with his family at his side.
He was a native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Fitzhugh Lee and Minnie Mae Hughes Johnson.
He retired after 35 years in the textile industry with Steel Heddle.
He proudly served his country as SSGT Squad Leader in the US Army as a Paratrooper in the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team (Rakkasans). He received the National Defense Medal for his service in Japan during the Korean War.
Mr. Johnson was a father figure to many during his years, including Debra McGregor, Tony Hemphill and Lewis Hendrix.
He was a Wood Craftsman, active in many sports including waterskiing, boating, bowling and softball. He spent many years mentoring and coaching youth baseball teams in Taylors, SC.
He is a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Taylors, SC.

Margarete Paula Lang Bigalke, widow of Raymond Bigalke, died July 24, 2015 at her home in Greer, SC. She was born July 25, 1923 in Oberammergau, Germany.
Although she died in the Eastern Time Zone, per German time, she died on her birthday at the age of 92.
Rita was the daughter of the late Andreas Lang and Victoria Stadler Lang.
She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Albert Lang and Walter Lang both of Oberammergau, Germany.
She was a past employee of Keys Printing.
Rita was a very sharp, lively, and engaging person.
She, her siblings and father were all accomplished artists.
Rita never met a stranger and was loved dearly by all whose lives she touched. She will be greatly missed by never forgotten.

Roy W. McAlister, 86, of Fayetteville, N.C. died July 25, 2015, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Roy was born June 19, 1929, in Oconee County, SC. He was the son of the late C. F. and Clara McAlister of Greer, SC.
Roy moved to Fayetteville with his family in 1954 and enjoyed a successful career as a salesman for several wholesale food companies including 23 years with Frosty Morn Meats.
He was a 61-year member of Haymount United Methodist Church where he will be remembered by his many friends and especially the Barrington Bible Class where he enjoyed sharing his wonderful singing voice.

Born in Greer, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Pearline Hawkins Dill and a member of Victor United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Benson was a realtor with C. Dan Joyner in Greer, and joined her husband, Sonny in running the family business, Benson Furniture Company.
Louise will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her zealous love of life, and her passionate love of her family and friends.

She was the widow of the late James Wendell Knight and daughter of the late William Clyde O?Shields and Ruth Cannon O?Shields of Tucapau, S.C.
She was a graduate of WLT High School and Spartanburg Methodist College.
Mrs. Knight was employed at Startex Mills Office until entering the U.S. Naval Service (Waves) serving from 1943-1944.
She was predeceased by one sister and one brother. She was a member of Lyman First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School before declining health.

Donald William "Don" Lister, 84, husband of Frances Geraldine Jones Lister, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.
He was the son of the late Palmer B. and Georgia Gantt Lister of Greer. Mr. Lister was a USAF Veteran of the Korean War. He was a retiree of Engineered Products of Greenville, served City of Greer Fire Department as a volunteer for thirty-six years and was a member of Victor Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Tom Capps and Mr. Chris Harvey. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Bobby James, Vernon Jamison, Paul Brown, Danny Gambrell, Eddie Burch, Jay Arrowood, John Holland and Josh Holzheimer.
Honorary escort will be Jimmy Polson, John Douglas, Gerald Davis, Dwayne Duncan and members and former members of the City of Greer Fire Department.
Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home.

John Faulkner Mansure, Jr., beloved son of John and Ruth Mansure passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, July 14, 2015.
"Jack" as he was fondly known was a 2009 graduate of Greenville High School. He received a BS in Biology from the College of Charleston and was currently enrolled in post graduate studies in Bio-Chemistry.
The ever playful Jack will be remembered for his great "gift of gab", being the "King of Jeopardy" and his love of nature. Being a creative, inquisitive soul his passion for working in the lab gave him his greatest sense of accomplishment.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his older sister, Katie and his younger brother, Hayden. He also greatly loved his rescue dog Callie.
A service to celebrate his life will be Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 4:00 0'clock at The Mackey Mortuary with the Reverend Pamela Cole Patrick officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8:00pm at the mortuary. Burial will be private.

A native of Goulds, Florida, daughter of the late Carol Benson Crum and Thelma Coulson Crum, and was a retired senior designer of Huntington Ingles Industries-Newport News Ship Building and was of the Baptist faith.
Era was a beloved wife, mother of eight children, had seventeen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
While raising eight children, Era went back to school and earned her degree in graphic design.
She went on to retire after thirty years of dedicated service from Huntington Ingles Industries-Newport News Ship Building.
As a passionate crafter and accomplished seamstress, she enjoyed sharing and teaching her skills to family and friends. She was a beautiful, loving, and talented mother, wife, and friend who will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
