Billy Wade Carpenter

Location: Lyman
November 11, 2022 - Billy Wade Carpenter, 92, husband of Sue Sizemore Carpenter of Lyman, SC, passed away peaceably on November 11, 2022.

He was the last surviving child born to the late Tom C. and Flora Adams Carpenter in Greenville, SC, where he grew up in the Dunean Community. He graduated from Parker High School, class of 1947. After high school, he attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC, but then left to join the US Air Force, where he was stationed in Sacramento, California during the Korean War.

He later returned to the University of South Carolina and graduated with BS degree in 1956 from the School of Pharmacy.

Billy was the owner and operator of Lyman Drug Store for 48 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyman, SC. He loved to play golf where he was a member of Holly Tree Country Club. He loved all sports, especially Gamecock football, basketball, and baseball.

William Neil Odom

A native of Greer, son of the late McNeil and Myrtle Green Odom, he was a retired employee of Shealy Electric after 43 years of service and a member of Riverside Baptist Church where he was a former deacon.

He was Worshipful Master of Taylors Masonic Lodge #345 in 1976, 32nd degree Scottish Rite. He loved his family and called them his blessings.

He prayed every night for them by name. Most of all he loved God. His grandkids were the love of his life and called him Pop and Poppy.
