Greer High School Principal Marion Waters was among the first high school, college or NFL representative in the United States to participate in the commemorative Ronald Reagan Centennial coin toss.
The coin bearing Ronald Reagan’s image is part of a year-long tribute to honor the 100th birthday of America’s 40th President. It is sponsored by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation.
A Tour of Homes at Thornblade and other events are scheduled for Friday through Sunday with proceeds benefiting The Guild of the Greenville Symphony.
The tours are Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday 1-4 p.m. Ticket prices are $20 and $25 the day of the tour.
Trade Street belonged to the world Saturday when ZFest extended its annual festival to include Greer as a destination for its BMW Z roadster reunion.
ZFest is an annual gathering of owners of Z roadsters, that were first manufactured at the Greer BMW Manufacturing Co., facility. The production has since moved to Germany.
