Sunday's temperature, reaching a high of 95, had people enjoying being outside for many reasons.
Angie Ashmore and Brian Lyne visited Greer City Park to swing in the shade while a breeze and the park's fountains provided a serene environment. "I love to see the revitalization that has taken place in downtown Greer," Ashmore said.
Lorenzo Powers remembers the time his mother told him to come into her room and shut the door. “She said she wanted me to see what she went through every day of her life,” Powers said. “She cried for more than forty-five minutes. It broke my heart.”
That was also a defining moment in Powers’ life. He grew up seeing how drugs and alcohol took their toll on family life. “Drugs, alcohol and depression. I’ve seen it all and lived it all,” he said.
