Born April 17, 1927 to the late Swinton Soloman and Mary Elizabeth Brissey Smith. Mildred served alongside her husband in the ministry in early years as an evangelist and then in pastoring churches in Mississippi, Georgia, and South Carolina. They were charter members of Praise Cathedral Church of God.

Margaret "Jeannie" P. Henson, 82, formerly of Lyman, SC, widow of Garold "Bud" Henson, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
Born in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Carl Pruitt, Sr. and Eula Hall Pruitt.
She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Greer, SC, retired from Raycord Corp. and ADO Corp.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She loved her Lord and set the example for those around her of love, forgiveness and giving.
After her retirement, she was always on the go. She loved to hand quilt with the ladies at Lyman First Baptist Church.
She volunteered her time at The Warehouse, The Middle Tyger Community Center where she was a Volunteer of the Year and various other organizations.

Donald Stewart Robinson, Sr., of Lyman, S.C., passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016.
Born on March 22, 1922 in Greer, S.C., he was the son of the late John Anderson Robinson and May Stewart Robinson.
He was a graduate of Greer High School, Furman University, and served his country as a Naval Aviator in WWII.
A former President of Greer Federal Savings and Loan Association, then Regional President and Corporate Director of First Savings Bank, he served as a Director of Savings and Loan League of South Carolina, Director and Chairman of South Carolina Service Corporation, member of the Budget Committee of United Way of Greenville, Director on the board of Senior Action of Greenville, member of the Kiwanis Club, Emeritus Member of the Poinsett Club, member of the "Warbirds" of Spartanburg, and a lifetime member of Greer First Baptist Church.
After retirement, he remained an avid traveler, reader, boater, gardener, and pilot.
He built an airstrip at his home and continued to fly his private plane until he was 80 years old.

Ruth Stansell Ashmore, wife of Russell C. Ashmore Jr., daughter of Ernest and Eloise Stansell, born in Belton, SC on Aug. 1, 1930, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 14, 2016, just after celebrating her 65th wedding anniversary on Oct. 13.
Known to all as Mama Ruth, she had the life goal of making sure anyone who came in touch with her would be well fed before leaving her sight. Ruth was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church for 56 years. She received the WYFF4 Jefferson Award for community service in 2000 and led the Taylors First Baptist Bereavement Committee for 45 years.
Ruth delivered Meals on Wheels for many years with most all of her grandchildren in tow at some point or another, modeling the true meaning of love and joyfully serving others.
