Gibbs expands cancer services in Cherokee County

Cancer Center is making treatment more convenient by extending outpatient infusion services to Cherokee County through Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute—Gaffney.

“We continue to support the Gaffney community by providing additional services close to home,” said Dr. David Church, Vice President of Oncology and Support Services for Gibbs. “By providing infusion services closer to home, patients will be able to resume their normal lifestyle and work activities sooner.”

Allen Bennett one small wall from complete demolition

These pieces of bricks were dropped here for the Greer community to salvage as memorabilia from Allen Bennett Hospital.
 

Only a couple of weeks remain for people wanting a free souvenir brick from the former Allen Bennett Hospital on Wade Hampton Blvd.

Demolition and removal of materials are near complete for the 10-acre site that housed the 220,000 square foot campus of Allen Bennett Hospital and Roger Huntington Nursing Home.

810 pounds of medication collected by police

Unwanted medications, prescription or over the counter, may be dropped off at the Greer Police Department at 102 S. Main Street and placed in the

Operation Medicine Cabinet accounted for 810 pounds of medication either turned into the Greer Police Department and two sponsored events in 2015, according to Greer Police Chief Dan Reynolds.

Reynolds gave his annual police department report to City Council on Tuesday.

Foodies Farmshop coming to The Depot, farmers market opens April

Mary Bergstrom's Southern Hills Lavender farm, a vendor from last year's market, offers food, fragrant soaps and flowers. The products are now offered at the Chocolate Toad on Trade Street.
 
 

The next best thing to a downtown grocery store is coming to Greer.

The Foodies Farmshop will become an anchor at The Depot at 300 Randall Street Suite G with the opening scheduled on April 7. That also coincides with the Greer Farmers Market that will shift locations from the Greer Florist parking lot at E. Poinsett St.
