BMW Manufacturing Co., headquartered in Greer, announced today that the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones (NAFTZ) recognized the company for its significant contribution to the U.S. export industry.
BMW's plant has steadily increased its export activity. In 2009, the plant contributed more than $3.1 billion in exports. In 2010, the company's export value grew to over $4 billion annually. According to data from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the current value of BMW exports confirms the company’s Greer facility as the largest vehicle exporter from the U.S. to non-NAFTA countries.
The Greer Planning Commission approved new zoning designations for one commercial and one residential application tonight at City Hall.
The Planning Commission approved rezoning 6.19 acres of land for the relocation of D&D Motors. The parcel was rezoned C-3 (highway commercial). D&D Motors has announced a $7 million relocation and expansion to 13645 E. Wade Hampton Blvd.
