Ink Link Marketing, the PR and Promotions Agency of Record for Buffets, Inc, headquartered in Greer, won a silver award for New Agency of the Year presented by Bulldog Reporter LLC.
Ink Link, based out of Pembroke Pines, Fla., took one of the nation’s largest steak-buffet restaurant companies Buffets, Inc., in the midst of its second bankruptcy filing, and introduced new programs and helped generate positive news.
The dogs have taken over Greer Station and seem to be proud of it.
Tuesday's on Trade, a promotion of Greer Station Association, to invite owners of dogs to bring their pets downtown, is held once a month. On Tuesday, Jessica Monroe hosted the dogs in front of her Greer Trading Post store.

Nick Stegall ends his 4 ½ -year tenure as General Manager at Greer Commission of Public Works Friday, the day of his formal retirement from lifetime service to public works. Stegall has served Greer on a myriad of boards including the Greer Development Corporation, Partnership for Tomorrow, Village Hospital Advisory Board and the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce.
Charlotte Rigby was giving a testimonial of her association with Allen Tate Realtors at the Greer office ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony on Tuesday.
Rigby and her husband, Dan, sold their company, Rigby Company Realtors, to Allen Tate six years ago. “This has been good for us,” Rigby said. “It’s brought us more depth, brought us more systems for agents and it took Rigby Company to a new level.” Rigby is a Leader at the Greenville and Easley offices.

The City of Greer Planning Commission voted 5-0 to deny property owned by the Greer Baptist Association (GBA) at 309 West Poinsett Street to be rezoned from residential to C-2 (commercial) for the purpose of operating a Christian bookstore.
Mayor Rick Danner left Saturday for China for his second economic trip within a year. This trip differs than his visit last September in that it will directly result with China interests in the Greer Inland Port and educational opportunities within the upstate.

Greer Bancshares Inc., the parent company of Greer State Bank, revised its previously reported second quarter net income attributable to common shareholders from $7.7 million or $3.12 per diluted common share to $6.2 million or $2.53 per diluted common share.
The valuation allowance reversal was recorded as $5.3 million and has been revised to be $3.9 million.
Duke Energy can raise its rates to residential customers in South Carolina 10 percent over two years. The state Public Service Commission approved the rate hike Wednesday.
That will reflect in higher customer bills beginning Sept. 18. The second rate hike occurs on the same date in 2014.
Ken Alexander III of Greer has been named as Operating Partner of the FATZ Cafe at the Greer location, 1361 West Wade Hampton Blvd.
