I’ll be graduating from college with no debt in a couple of weeks, and I have a good job waiting for me in January. During the last few years, I’ve managed to save almost $25,000 from my part-time jobs while in school. My car is pretty beaten up and old, so I’ve been shopping at a couple of car dealerships recently. Every time I talk to a salesperson, they tell me I should finance something new instead of paying cash for a used car. What should I do?
Prices at the pump are headed toward some of the cheapest prices Carolinians have seen this year.
South Carolina’s average of $2.21 is the lowest the state has seen so far this year, the last time prices were this low were on January 1, 2018 when they hit $2.24.
The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce announced Monday the hiring of David Merhib as its new president and CEO. Merhib has served as the president and CEO of the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce in Brookings, SD for the past four years.
“I am looking forward to leading the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce and working with the Board of Directors, Chamber staff and Chamber membership,” Merhib said. “My goal is to keep the Chamber relevant through new and existing programs and initiatives that impact the business community as well as develop and create opportunities for business growth throughout the Greater Greer area.”
A Veterans Career Fair is scheduled Monday, (Nov. 12) from 1 – 6:30 p.m. at Greer City Hall.
The event will include professional development workshops, a job fair and a networking hour for all participants and employers.
