Benjamin “Ben” Waters, IV, vice president of Cunningham-Waters Construction Company, died Wednesday. He was 41.
Waters graduated Greer High School.
Greer's BMW plant is leading U.S. automotive exporter by value

A record 287,700 BMW X models were exported from the BMW Manufacturing plant in Greer in 2016.
Approximately 86 percent of the sports activity vehicles and coupes were exported through the Port of Charleston with an export value of $9.53 billion, according to data from the U.S. Department of Commerce. That makes the facility the leading U.S. automotive exporter by value.
BIN112, The Strip Club 104 earn more top dining awards

Jason Clark’s two downtown restaurants, BIN112 and The Strip Club 104 A Steak House, were both honored as Top 10 Diner’s Choice in Greenville.
OpenTable Diner’s Choice selections are based on metropolitan areas, which makes Clark’s honors more noticeable.

If we send out these letters offering a five or 10 percent discount for early payment on next year’s services, is that too similar to borrowing money from our customers at five to 10 percent?
Spartanburg Regional Foundation elects board of trustees, advisory boards

The Spartanburg Regional Foundation has elected a board of trustees and community and physicians to advisory boards.
Foundation board members meet quarterly to oversee the work of the Foundation and the advisory board members assist with fundraising for the divisions of cancer, heart and hospice.
Benson earned former hospital site in high stakes gamesmanship

Jim Benson is the new owner of the former Allen Bennett Memorial Hospital site, 313 Memorial Drive, with an offer of $3.010 million after one of the most bizarre and contentious public property sales conducted by Greer City Council.
City Council approved second reading on the ordinance on Jan. 24 when Brian Martin, attorney for Benson, increased the offer $5,000 more than what JBM verbally proposed ($3.005 million) on Dec. 13.
Leadership Greer hosts Oyster Roast to revitalize a community playground

The 13th Annual Cypress Internal Medicine Oyster Roast (shrimp boil and pig pickin’), might look a little different this year. The Leadership Greer Class XXXVII has adopted the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce’s annual event to benefit their class project, Play it Forward.
The event will be held on Friday, February 24th from 6-9pm at 113 Berry Ave in Greer.
