October 31, 2013 - Sandra R. Freeman, 68, of 700 Old Jones Road, died October 31, 2013.

A native of Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Wade Hampton and Vera Childs Jefferson. She was self-employed as an accountant.

Mrs. Freeman was lovingly devoted to her family whom she cherished, as well as her friends. She was gifted with love for others.

She spent many years volunteering her time and services to Beech Springs Intermediate and other schools. Sandy delighted in helping others. She was passionate about her two grandsons. She was an avid reader and loved working with her flowers.

Sandy will be dearly missed by her family and by all of those whose lives she touched.

Margie Bramlett Howell Parker

October 30, 2013 - Margie Bramlett Howell Parker passed away peacefully at her home on October 30, 2013. Margie was born on May 1, 1930 in Greer, SC and was a daughter of the late Leroy and Vonnie H. Bramlett.

Margie graduated from Davenport High School where she played on the girls? basketball team and was a member of the last class to graduate 11th grade.

Her first marriage was to Marshall Howell of Greer and they had two children, Barry (Smiley) and Bryan. After Marshall?s death, she married Cecil Parker of Liberty, SC and moved to Union with him and his children, Lisa, Woody and Derryl; but later returned with him to her beloved Greer where she happily remained.

She loved children and was employed by Rilla Rin Schoolette and Precious People daycares and was known to many children in Greer and Union as ?Miss Margie.?

She was a long-time member of Greer First Baptist Church and was currently a faithful and devoted member of St. John?s Baptist Church. She enjoyed being involved with her church family and is remembered for her years of dedicated service on the Hospitality Committee.

Besides spending time with her children, grandchildren and church family, Margie enjoyed cheering for the Greer Yellow Jackets and her beloved South Carolina Gamecocks.

Along with her husbands and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Barry (Smiley) Howell, brothers, Roy Bramlett and William Bramlett, her sister, Julia Bramlett and special friend, Becky Clement.

A native of Lyman, he served as a Marine Raider during WWII and spent a career as a printer in the textile industry. He was a member of Greer First Presbyterian Church and volunteered with the Greenville Hospital System.

John George Deck, Sr.

October 10, 2013 - John George Deck, Sr., 75, a devoted, loving husband, father and Papa, passed away peacefully October 10, 2013, surrounded by his family for whom he had a great love.

A native of Port Chester, NY, known by his PC friends as "Yosh," he was the son of the late George and Bertha Fus Deck, a PC Senior High 1956 Graduate, a retired employee after 32 years at the Port Chester Post Office and a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

John was offered a full basketball scholarship to Rutgers University, which he turned down to enlist in the US Marine Corps, where he served at Parris Island and Camp LeJeune.

He later served on a six month Mediterranean Cruise. John also excelled in baseball and bowling and he loved to golf. He was a member of the Polish Club and Elks Club of Port Chester, NY.
