Faye McKinney Garland

February 29, 2016 - Faye McKinney Garland, 83, of Lyman, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016.

A native of Bakersville, NC, she was the widow of Howard Garland and the daughter of the late Robert Lee McKinney and Lucy Grindstaff.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg.

Faye lived her life as instructed in the Great Commandments to Love the Lord with all thy heart, with all thy soul and with all thy mind; And love thy neighbor as thyself Matt. 22:38.

She was unwavering in her love and commitment to her family and friends. She was active in the Eastern Star, Clemson Home Extension and Springfield Garden Club.

A native of Polk County, North Carolina, son of the late Tom and Donnav Eplee Greenway, he was a retired employee of Springs Industries and a member of Duncan United Methodist Church, where he served as trustee.

Mr. Greenway was a lifetime mason with the Irving Southworth Lodge #350, Hejaz Shriner, Captain of the Hillbilly Motor Cade and Vice President of the Men?s Club in Duncan.

February 19, 2016 - Keith William Beaupre, Jr., 30, of Greer, died February 19, 2016.

Keith was born in Lapeer, Michigan, and lived in Greer, SC prior to his death.

He is the son of Keith Edward Beaupre and Alice Bilyeu Utecht both of Greer, SC and he was raised in the Baptist faith.

He was an employee at Bob Ledford?s Adventure Motorhomes, where he was in training to become an RV technician.

He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of the Iraqi War, where he served two back to back tours, during which he received the Iraq Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award), and Combat Infantryman Badge.

He was a native of Cherokee County and was the son of the late Wilton Henry and Sudie Inman Smith. Upon retirement, he was manager of Community Cash for over 40 years. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and held the rank of Staff Sargent in the Strategic Air Command. He was a member of Greer First Baptist Church, Bailey Masonic Lodge, and a Hejaz Shriner.

February 14, 2016 - Mary Dempsey Allred, 88, passed away on February 14, 2016.

Born in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Ressie Cox Dempsey.

She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class and the Susanna Wesley Circle.

Mrs. Allred was active for many years in the United Methodist Women and also served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for 35 years.

She worked at Pacific Mills in Lyman and later became a homemaker.

She will be fondly remembered for her bright smile, giving nature and kind personality.

She and her late husband, Carl C. Allred, enjoyed traveling and they visited many destinations.
